Our high-point and elevation convention
Our 32 county entries follow the named locations in High Point Ireland’s county-high-point list and individual location pages, checked 15 October 2026. The 32 county list is commonly grouped into 27 named entries. Precise county boundaries and alternative candidate tops require more care than that headline count suggests.
We display the same specialist-list heights throughout, rather than mixing heights from different surveys or rounded tourism pages. Material source disagreements—including Benbaun and Slieve Donard—are identified on their county pages. Heights are metres above sea level; they are not route lengths or difficulty grades.

We write our own summaries. Listing a place does not imply permission to enter it. Source observations are dated; opening times, closures, path conditions and access can change.
