County Fermanagh at its highest
Fermanagh shares Cuilcagh with Cavan, making this a natural connection between the two county records. The Geopark's celebrated boardwalk crosses a protected landscape and finishes at a viewing platform below the summit destination. Its popularity can obscure that difference in online accounts. Treat the boardwalk as an outing in its own right, and keep any county-top record tied to the actual place visited and the access advice in force at the time.
Before you go
Plan your visit
Read the live Geopark notice before planning around the boardwalk. When checked on 15 October 2026, the operator did not recommend continuing beyond the viewing platform and asked walkers to remain within the designated route and platform. Follow that conservation request. If the summit is your objective, seek current guidance from the Geopark before choosing an alternative plan; a checklist does not create permission to continue across the plateau.
