County Wexford at its highest
Wexford shares Mount Leinster with Carlow as its county high point. The mountain is the highest summit in the Blackstairs, connecting the Wexford record to a landscape that crosses the county line. Carlow's regional tourism material is useful context for the same mountain, including surrounding villages and the Barrow Valley. For your own challenge, keep the summit objective clear and record the shared mountain consistently under both counties after the relevant visit.
Before you go
Plan your visit
Compare your chosen walk with a detailed Blackstairs map before deciding it reaches Mount Leinster. High Point Ireland recommends Discovery Sheet 68 or the EastWest Blackstairs, Mount Leinster and Barrow Valley map. Nearby long-distance trails and scenic-drive stops are different destinations from the summit. Check the actual approach and return, current local access arrangements and the county boundary rather than assuming that a route bearing the mountain's name necessarily completes both county entries.
